invitation -

At the heart of Christian faith is transformation, the transformation of the world and our lives. Stewardship season is the time when each of us and all of us focus on what God is leading us to do with what gifts we have been given.

God is not a solo act. God has to have partners, us, who are willing to give not only our time, hands, feet and energy but our dollars as well. God needs all our gifts, but especially our dollars, to help God's future emerge at Second church. No partners; nothing gets done.

The invitation of stewardship season is simple: take time to carefully and prayerfully consider how you are being God's partner; get more deeply involved in the life and mission of the Church and invest more deeply financially. In doing so, our congregation and our lives will be transformed.

Pledge -

Thanks to those who have made pledges to the stewardship campaign, literally and symbolically committing your financial support to the many activities, programs, and benevolences in the life of Second. As we envision the ways in which God calls us to serve, God asks us to be faithful and sacrificial in our financial contributions. Please prayerfully consider what amount you will give for the 2012 church year so we may continue funding and expanding the life of this church. If you intend to pledge but haven't yet, please complete your pledge online, email or print and mail your pledge card to the church office.

I have a confession to make. I never, ever give money to NPR. I listen to them for almost an hour every day, have for years and years, but I've managed to resist them all this time. Not only do I not give them money, I've even figured out that you can flip back and forth between the AM and FM channels......
