The Nashville Epiphany Project (NEP) seeks to embody Christ's radical justice and love through acts of service that strive to acknowledge the reciprocal nature of mission. NEP desires to transform traditional models of service from a focus on doing mission, to being in mission with others. This will be accomplished by providing volunteers for ministries that focus on direct services and structural change.
To live as an example of Christ's service to others, leading others to a deeper faith in God.
To address the needs of social service agencies, by providing essential staff support.
To encourage, broaden, and deepen congregational involvement in community mission and outreach activities.
To strengthen relations between PCUSA, local congregations, and local outreach programs.
To provide opportunities for volunteers to experience mission through mutually transformative relationships
To engage in spiritual disciplines of simple living, prayer, study, and service, and to grow spiritually from them.
To develop an intentional Christian community in the Nashville area. To model an approach to community ministries that includes both direct service and structural change.
To provide opportunities for young adults to participate in vocational discernment, and to explore various vocations including those enhanced by a theological education leading to parish ministry.
