Sunday School: 9:30 AM
Coffee fellowship: 9:15 am
Second Presbyterian welcomes you to join us in our journey of faith, regardless of age, race, gender, sexual orientation, economic or family status, ethnic background, mental or physical abilities.
Because in 1939 our property was given to the congregation with the charge to serve Monroe Harding Children's Home, we continue the gift by inviting partnership with local missions. By intentionally sharing our facilities and energies for use in endeavors of hope, we share the transforming love of Christ.
Because words shape our thinking, behavior, and knowledge of God and of ourselves, we strive to use inclusive language in the life and worship of this church.
At Second Presbyterian Church, our communal life is centered around worship. Each Sunday morning at 8:15 and 11:00, members and visitors gather to hear the good news of God's love in Jesus Christ.
We respond to that good news as we seek to glorify God in our worship through:
- Scripture reading
- Comforting yet challenging preaching
- Celebration of the sacraments
- Congregational singing and prayer
- Choirs, ensembles, and soloists
Communion is celebrated on the first Sunday of each month and special worship services are held on:
- Christmas Eve
- Ash Wednesday
- Maundy Thursday
- Good Friday
- Taize services on the first Wednesday of each month
